HUDSON VALLEY-AREA COMMUNITY SUPPORTS DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SURVIVORS THROUGH DONATION DRIVE

Hudson Valley-area Allstate agency owners are teaming up to host supply drives to benefit the Center for Safety & Change of New City and Hope’s Door of Hawthorne. The donations will support the nonprofits’ missions to provide supportive services to victims seeking safety, independence and healing from the trauma of domestic violence and other abuse. The supply drives are part of a multi-region Allstate Foundation Purple Purse® donation effort that will benefit domestic violence nonprofits throughout Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington D.C. and West Virginia.

Now through December 11, the public can participate by donating toiletries, diapers, cleaning supplies, non-perishable food items, clothing and gift cards for drugs stores, supermarkets and retail stores. Needed supplies include: toiletries, deodorant, soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, pampers, bathrobes and sweat suits.

Through their volunteer efforts, each participating Hudson Valley-area Allstate agency owner will secure a $1,000 Allstate Foundation Helping Hands® grant. The National Network to End Domestic Violence (NNEDV) will accept the grants and distribute the funding to local domestic violence nonprofits.

“As small business owners and community leaders, these Allstate agency owners see firsthand the opportunities and challenges facing the communities they serve,” said New York Region Allstate spokesperson, Kayla Taylor. “Giving back is core to who they are as agency owners, which is why they’re proud to volunteer and raise funds to support survivors of domestic violence and their families across the Hudson Valley area.”
