JAZZ PIANO TITAN, LARRY FULLER, APPEARS IN NYACK

Maureen’s Jazz Cellar presents Larry Fuller, internationally known mainstream jazz pianist next weekend, appearing with his Trio at 8 and 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 25, 2017. The performance will showcase Fuller’s jazz piano styles, blending bebop, swing and stride techniques “with an assurance and breathtaking ease rarely experienced live today.”

Fuller credits long-time music making with four very different jazz giants with giving him wisdom gleaned from working with legends. The jazz giants were bassist Ray Brown, vocalist Ernestine Anderson, drummer Jeff Hamilton and guitarist-singer John Pizzarelli. “I learned the value of presentation from Ray Brown,” Fuller said. “There has to be a variety of moods and tempos; enough arranging of tunes to inspire the players, but not too much to inhibit them. And above all, everything always has to swing.”

Fuller’s trio features: Larry Fuller, piano; George DeLancey, bass; Jason Tiemann, drums.
