Elmwood Playhouse in Nyack sets auditions for the musical “The Bridges of Madison County” to be directed by Claudia Stefany. They will be August 23-24 at 7:30 p.m., at the Playhouse on Park Street in Nyack with callbacks August 28 at 7:30 p.m. (by invitation only). Additionally, “On Golden Pond” continues at Elmwood weekends through August 5.

Babbling Brook Players presenting “The Taming of the Shrew,” July 28 and 29 at 6:30 p.m. on the lawn at the Clark Recreation Center, located at 59 Campbell Avenue in Suffern, and on the lawn of the Montebello Village Hall, located at 1 Montebello Road, August 4, 5 and 6. In case of inclement weather, the location will be the Town of Ramapo Senior Community Center in Suffern. Admission is free. An additional performance will be on July 30 at 6:30 p.m. at Rose Hall on the grounds of the Green Meadow Waldorf School in Chestnut Ridge. “Taming Of The Shrew” is the comedy by William Shakespeare believed to have been written between 1590 and 1592.

“Cobb,” the story of baseball legend Ty Cobb, continues weekends through July 23 at Penguin Repertory Theatre, Stony Point. Visit penguinrep.org or call 845-786-2873.

“Annie” continues at Westchester Broadway Theatre in Elmsford through September 10. Coming to WBT in 2018 will be A Chorus Line, Sister Act, Anything Goes, Disney Newsies and a Christmas Carol.
