WEATHER THIS WEEK: Friday, 6/16 – Thursday, 6/22

Your weekly forecast by Zachary Jacomowitz

Hello Rockland County! The good news is that the heat wave has broke thanks to the passage of a cold front back early Wednesday morning. With that said, let’s get to the all-important Father’s Day weekend forecast, and beyond.

Friday will be a rather unsettled day with the threat for rain showers and cool conditions. Highs will only be in the low 60s. That is the complete opposite to what we have been experiencing as of late. Saturday looks to be unsettled as well, however, we should be a bit warmer as highs will reach into the mid-70s. Father’s Day Sunday looks muggy and warm, with highs reaching into the low to mid-80s. A few showers or storms may be around. Otherwise, skies will be partly to mostly cloudy.

Then, a front begins to approach the area from the west. This will allow for showers to remain in the forecast on Monday but they should clear by Tuesday. Highs on Mondaywill be in the mid-70s to near 80°. It appears the unsettled weather theme returns on Wednesday as showers will be around thanks to an area of low pressure to our northwest. Highs will be in the low 80s. Lastly, Thursday is looking dry at this point. Highs will be in the low 80s as well.

I’d like to take the time to wish everyone a Happy Father’s Day. Additionally, I know many are graduating next week, so congratulations to the Class of 2017!
