Racist and anti-semitic graffiti discovered at Hi-Tor State Park

Another instance of racist and anti-semitic graffiti being uncovered in Rockland County occurred this week, as the Palisades Interstate Parks Commission reported swastikas and racist comments painted at Hi Tor State Park in New City following their discovery by a local volunteer.

Rockland County Executive Ed Day and other community leaders condemned the hateful graffiti.

“We deplore any symbol or any hint of hate directed at any person or group,” said Day. “Our Human Rights Commission stands ready to work with any groups to promote tolerance and respect among all the diverse people who live in Rockland.”

Day called on the state Palisades Interstate Parks Commission to remove the graffiti found in Hi Tor State Park.
