NANUET STREET FAIR ON JUNE 4TH FEATURES LOCAL ENTERTAINMENT, GREAT FOOD AND BRINGS BACK OLD FASHIONED FAMILY GAMES FOR 2017

The Greater Nanuet Chamber of Commerce will host its Fourth Annual Nanuet Street Fair on Sunday, June 4 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Main Street. The event has quickly become one of the most popular in Rockland County and has attracted more than 15,000 people. Parking and admission are free.

This year there will be several new attractions. In addition to the wide selection of rides for kids, the Nanuet Street Fair will feature old fashioned games with participants competing against local politicians including Rockland County Executive Ed Day and Clarkstown Town Supervisor George Hoehmann and their families. The family games will support the Nanuet Schools Family Resource Center and CANDLE who will be on hand to coordinate three-legged races, egg and spoon relays, potato sack races, and a giant Simon Says game. The music and announcements from the main stage will also be pumped throughout the fair this year to ensure that everyone knows what’s going on from one end to the other.

“We try to do something unique each time which is why we only host one Street Fair each year. We want it to be an event to remember and the family games are a great way to harken back to the days of the Memorial Day parades and fairs that were held in Nanuet back in the 70s” stated Risa Hoag, President of the Greater Nanuet Chamber of Commerce. The family games will take place from 1 – 3pm and people can register at the Chamber booth on Market Street.

The Nanuet Street Fair features nearly 200 vendors including local businesses and craft vendors from across the tri-state area. This year’s refreshment tent is sponsored by Ambulance Brew House located on Main Street in Nanuet. Additionally, Fair sponsors include The Town of Clarkstown, as well as 30 additional sponsors who are featured on the gift bags which will be distributed to the first 500 families who stop by the Nanuet Chamber booth and the staff fair T-Shirts. Major sponsors this year are Ambulance Brew House, Mercedes-Benz, Dynamic Productions, and Cube Smart.

Additional sponsors include: Area Pro Realty of Rockland, AutoPro Auto Parts, Children’s Corner Learning Center, Coatti’s Service Station, Inc., Computuners – Computer Services, Coupe Dance Studio, Dance Central Performing Arts, Goosetown Communications, M-Tech Printing, Nanuet Restaurant, Tumble Bee Gymnastics, Volumetric Fund and GMG Public Relations.

The Nanuet Chamber of Commerce Booth will provide free gift bags for the first 500 families and the Town of Clarkstown will be on hand to explain the Transit Oriented Development project to improve the downtown Nanuet area. The entertainment schedule will include Nanuet High School Students to perform the opening ceremony, Baddhabit, a Tribute Band To 80s Rock, the Ice Cream Social Performers (local Rockland County Students); performances from Local Arts and Dance Schools including Coupé Theatre Studio and Dance Central Performing Arts.
