Orangetown

Congers Man Arrested with Multiple Charges

Orangetown Police arrested 33-year-old Darren Domenici of Congers on April 26 for two counts of Burglary in the second degree, Grand Larceny in the third, two counts of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the fourth and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the seventh.

Officers responded to a home on Route 303 in Orangeburg. The homeowner stated he had left his house the on April 24 at 8 p.m. and upon returning to his house 15 minutes later he observed damage to his kitchen window and his slider door was unlocked. The homeowner noticed a safe was moved into his living room and his bedroom was searched through.

The homeowner left his house again to open his business. When he returned home at 12:30 p.m., he observed the slider window open and the safe removed from his home. The safe contained an unknown amount of cash. Jewelry and other cash were also removed from the home. The home had a security system and detectives are investigating the case.

Domenici was stopped for a vehicle infraction earlier in the week and the office recorded his plate number into his License Plate Recorder System (LPR). On April 26 around 10 a.m., an Orangetown Police Officer received an alert on his LPR and observed the suspect’s vehicle in the parking lot on Catherine Street in Nyack. Domenici was arrested and brought to headquarters. He was held on a total of $35,000 bail for all of his charges.

Larceny Fugitive in Clarkstown

Junior Estrada

22-year-old Junior Estrada is wanted by the Clarkstown Police Department for larceny and Possession of Stolen Property. His last known address was in Spring Valley. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call the Police Department at (845) 639-5880.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ramapo

Theft of Services Arrest

On April 26, the Ramapo Police arrested a 21-year-old male for Theft of Services when he tried to get out of paying a $100 cab fare.

A young man called a cab from Paterson, New Jersey and told the driver to take him to Monsey. When the man was dropped off, he said he would be right back with the money. He walked to the back of the house and never came back. One of the responding officers said it wasn’t the first time he had heard this story from this same address. The officer had a suspect in mind; he lives in a home on the other side of the woods.

The next day, the officers used the department’s computer resources and developed a photo array; the driver identified the suspect. The following day, the police arrested him, discovering he also had an outstanding warrant from Ramapo Court for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance. He was sent to the Rockland County Jail.

DWI Fugitive

Joshua Mollica

Joshua Mollica (age 41) is wanted by the Ramapo Police Department for Driving While Intoxicated. The charges stem from an incident that occurred on Route 17 in July 2016. Mollica is 6’2 and weighed about 175 lbs at the time of the arrest. Anyone with information of his whereabouts is asked to contact the Ramapo Police.

 

 

 

 

 

Domestic Violence

Ramapo Police arrested a man for Menacing, Criminal Possession of a Weapon and Harassment Monday afternoon.

The Ramapo Police responded to a report of a man with a gun. The female caller stated that her ex-boyfriend showed up to her house and threatened both her and her current boyfriend with a gun. The victims fled the house to a safe location to call 9-1-1. The officers found the suspect, who had a BB gun tucked into his waistband. He was arrested and taken to headquarters to be processed.

Suffern

Jersey Man Wanted for Obstruction of Governmental Administration

Edgardo Hernandez

Edgardo Hernandez, 19 of Ramsey New Jersey is wanted by the Suffern Police for Obstruction of Governmental Administration and Resisting Arrest that occurred in 2016. Hernandez interfered with officers who were placing another person under arrest and then fought with them when being taken into custody. Police ask that you call the department at (845) 357-2300 with any information.

 

 

 

 

Mahwah Man Arrested for DWI

Monday night, the Suffern Police arrested a 56-year-old Mahwah man for Driving While Intoxicated. The officer observed the driver operating the vehicle erratically and was stopped on Lafayette Ave. A breathalyzer confirmed that his BAC was above .08%. He was processed at headquarters.

Haverstraw

Bicycle Theft in Garnerville

Monday afternoon, three suspects from Pomona (one 22-year-old and two 18-year-olds) were arrested for stealing bicycles in Garnerville. The 18-year-olds were identified as Roberto Lorapena Jr and Joshua Figueroa and the 22-year-old was identified as Eddy Mercedes. They were charged with Petit Larceny and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, both misdemeanors. The three men who lived in the same household were released on bail and will return to Haverstraw court later this month.

Criminal Contempt Arrest

Alexis Mendez, age 23 of Haverstraw was arrested on April 29 and charged with Criminal Contempt in the second degree. Mendez allegedly went to a home in West Haverstraw and harassed another subject in violation of an order of protection. Mendez was held on bail and will appear in court later this month.

 

 

Sexual Misconduct

Fraimy Morel-Rojas, age 19 of Haverstraw was arrested on April 20 for Sexual Misconduct. He was charged with this because of an incident that occurred on March 26, 2017. Morel-Rojas will be held on bail and appear in Haverstraw court later this month.

Stony Point

CPCS Arrest

Michael Schultz

Michael Schultz, 36-year-old from Washingtonville, NY was arrested on April 8 for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the seventh degree.

Schultz was stopped on Beach Road for traffic violations. Officers discovered that not only his license was suspended, he was in possession of nine hypodermic needles, six oxycodone pills and 1.8 grams of heroin. He will appear in court on May 4.

DWIs in Pearl River

Kareem Albadawi

Kareem Albadawi, 30-year-old from Garnerville was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and Operation of Motor Vehicle with BAC .08% or more on April 29 in Pearl River.

A Sheriff Patrol Officer observed the above suspect operating a motor vehicle in an intoxicated manner at the STOP-DWI check point. Subject was arrested and charged as a felony due to his prior DWI conviction. Albadawi was processed at Sheriff/ STOP DWI Field Unit and then arraigned at the Orangetown Justice Court. He is placed on $1,000 bail.

 

 

Deborah Okeefe

Deborah Okeefe, 61-year-old from Westwood, NJ was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and Operation of Motor vehicle with BAC .08% or more on April 28 in Pearl River.

A Sheriff Patrol Officer observed the above suspect operating a motor vehicle in an erratic manner at the STOP-DWI check point. Subject was arrested and processed at Sheriff/STOP DWI Field Unit. She was released on summonses to return to Orangetown Justice Court.

 

 

 

3 more subjects were caught and arrested for driving while intoxicated on April 28 at the STOP-DWI check point in Pearl River. These three were processed and issued summonses in accordance with violations committed to return to Orangetown Justice Court. In addition, one other subject was arrested for driving with a suspended registration. These four were caught between the hours of 11 p.m. and 4 a.m.
