Share your thoughts with Rockland BOCES at the second regional community forum on the federal Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), Monday, March 13, 4:30 – 6:30 p.m., at Rockland BOCES Conference Center, Building 10, 65 Parrott Road, West Nyack.
New York State is seeking input from local residents and other stakeholders on its plan for ESSA, which was signed by President Obama on December 10, 2015 as a bipartisan effort. The new law builds on key areas of No Child Left Behind that more clearly focus on the goal of fully preparing all students for success in college and careers. Feedback from the forum will be used by the New York State Education Department (NYSED) and the Board of Regents in developing a draft plan to comply with requirements set forth by the United States Department of Education (USDE) regarding ESSA.
The event is free. To register in advance, visit RocklandBOCES.org or call 845-627-4774.
