ROBBERY REPORTED AT STONY POINT MOBIL GAS STATION

Robbery Investigation

NARRATIVE FROM STONY POINT PD

At approximately 12:37am on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 the Stony Point Police Department responded to the Mobil Gas Station located at #163 S. Liberty Dr. (Mobil) Stony Point, NY for a reported armed robbery. Further investigation revealed a male (stocky build) wearing gray sweatpants, maroon sweatshirt, a wool cap, gloves and white towel covering his face did jump the counter and threaten the clerk with a hammer.

The suspect forced the clerk to open the register and the suspect then took the cash register tray with US currency. He then forced the cashier into a bathroom, exited the store and fled northbound toward Major Andre Dr. A search of the area for the suspect was unsuccessful.

The Stony Point Police was assisted by the Rockland County Sheriff’s Patrol, B.C.I., K9, and the Haverstraw Town Police. Anyone with any information should contact the Stony Point Police Detective Bureau at 845 786-2744.
