A sex abuse case against a chiropractor from South Nyack was adjourned until March at a court hearing this week. Kristina Wodicka was arrested and charged with sexual abuse in the first degree, a class D felony in 2016 for an alleged sexual encounter with a female minor patient.

It is alleged that Wodicka subjected the minor female to sexual contact by forcible compulsion. Additional charges include endangering the welfare of a minor and forcible touching of the minor’s intimate, sexual parts. The alleged incident occurred at an office Wodicka shared with her husband, Dr. Kenneth Zatz, a pediatrician.

Wodicka’s case has been handled in South Nyack Justice Court since her arrest. After a court appearance this week, defense counsel informed Acting Justice Thomas Mascola that motions would be submitted seeking further information from the District Attorney’s Office. The case was adjourned until March for a decision on defendant’s motion. Wodicka remains free on her own recognizance without bail.

To date, the District Attorney’s Office has not presented the case to a grand jury for indictment, which would move the case to County Court for felony prosecution. By law, town and village justice courts may handle felony matters on a limited basis but cannot dispose of cases involving felonies.

Wodicka was first licensed as a chiropractor in 1998, however, she also faces a charge of felony-unauthorized practice of a profession requiring a license in this case. According to her website, Wodicka operated the Little Waters Wellness Center in Nyack. The office remains closed while her case proceeds.

Police arrest records indicate that a small bottle of “CBD Plus Oil” containing cannabidol was seized upon her arrest.
