Orangetown:

Man Arrested for Harassment

On Monday June 27, 2016 at 11:17 a.m., the Orangetown Police Department arrested Wilson Aramboles, 26, of Pearl River, New York. Aramboles was involved in a domestic incident in Pearl River on June 11, 2016.

It is alleged that he grabbed a female by the hair, threw her to the ground and choked her. He was arrested and processed at the Orangetown Police Headquarters. The subject was charged with Strangulatio, second degree, a felony, and harassment, second degree, a violation. Aramboles was arraigned at the Orangetown Justice Court by the Honorable Judge Loftus and released on bail. He is due back in Orangetown Justice Court on July 25, 2016 to answer the charges.

Ramapo

Wanted Man Arrested for Violation

On June 28, 2016 RPD investigated a violation of an order of protection that occurred in the Town. When law enforcement officers arrived, the suspect was not present. Ramapo officers continued to search for the suspect during the tour, and located him in the Village of Spring Valley in the late afternoon. The 42-year-old male from Spring Valley was arrested by Ramapo Police and charged with Criminal Contempt in the Second degree. He was arraigned by a Ramapo Justice then turned over to the Suffern police who had an outstanding warrant for the suspect from their court.

Fire in New Square

On June 27, 2016 at approximately 2:30 p.m. the RPD and Hillcrest FD responded to Jefferson Avenue, New Square, for a structure fire. The fire was contained to a bedroom closet in one of the upstairs apartments. RPD detectives are investigating the matter and will be assisted by the Rockland county BCI.

DWI Arrest in Chestnut Ridge

On June 26, 2016 a RPD Officer observed a vehicle being driven erratically on Red School House Road in the Village of Chestnut Ridge. The officer stopped the vehicle and determined the driver was intoxicated. The driver was arrested and it was determined he has several prior DWI arrests.

Fire in Chestnut Ridge

On June 25, 2015 the RPD responded to a brush fire in the area of Water Mill Road in the Village of Chestnut Ridge. Arriving officers found that an abandoned house between Dundee Court and Demarest Road was on fire. South Spring Valley Fire Department responded to the scene along with the Nanuet Fire Department assisting. Faist Ambulance responded and stood by but there were no reported injuries. The fire was extinguished and Ramapo police detectives are investigating the fire.

Man Arrested for Driving Suspensions

On June 24, 2016 a Ramapo officer conducting traffic enforcement stopped a car on Route 59-Monsey for a simple seat-belt violation. After identifying the operator as a 25-year-old male from Monsey, New York, the DMV inquiry revealed that he had four suspensions out of Nassau County, Village of Rockville Center, and should not have been operating a vehicle. The driver was arrested for Misdemeanor Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the third Degree. He was released on two traffic tickets returnable to Ramapo Court in July, and was obviously not permitted to drive the vehicle from the scene.

We charged a 42 yr. old Suffern man with Criminal Contempt after he allegedly threatened his ex-wife in violation of an order of protection issued against him. He was picked up by the Ramapo Police Department and turned over to us as they had charges on him as well.

We charged three drivers who were operating with suspended registrations, a 59-year-old Airmont man on Ramapo Ave., a 22-year-old Nanuet woman and a 34-year-old Maryland man both on Lafayette Ave. Further, a 27-year-old Hillburn man was arrested on a warrant after he failed to show up in our court for a charge of driving with a suspended license and a 44-year-old Newburgh man was charged with driving with a suspended license from a prior DWI after he was stopped for driving erratically on Rt. 202.

A 43-year-old Suffern man was charged with having a warrant out of our department for Criminal Contempt after he violated a stay away order of protection from his estranged wife.

A 54-year-old Suffern woman was arrested at her Yorkshire Dr. home after it was found Rockland County Sheriff’s Department had a warrant for her on an outstanding criminal charge. She was turned over to Sheriff’s Deputies and taken to their HQ for processing.

Two drivers, a 34-year-old Spring Valley man and a 64-year-old Airmont man were charged with driving with suspended vehicle registrations and a 19-year-old Airmont man was charged with driving with a suspended license after being stopped for speeding on Rt. 202.
