Republican Sen. Bill Larkin announced he would run for re-election to the seat he has held since 1990 in what could be a crucial battleground district for control of the chamber.
“Of all the professions I’ve had, being a public servant has had a very special meaning for me over the years,” Larkin said in a statement. “I truly enjoy going to the office every day, traveling the district and meeting with and helping constituents. My duty as a public servant is not something I take lightly and I will not walk away from it until I feel my job is done.”
Democratic Assemblyman James Skoufis has filed to run for the Hudson Valley Senate district.
