9th ANNUAL KING FOR A DAY ORATORICAL CONTEST

The National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Inc., Epsilon Chi Chapter in conjunction with its Youth Leadership Club, Xinos and Kudos is hosting the 9th Annual “King For A Day” Oratorical Contest, which will take place at 2:30 p.m. on January 16, 2016 at the Finkelstein Library in Spring Valley, New York.

Participating seventh and eighth grade middle school students from the Rockland County area will honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. by showcasing their public speaking skills. Seventh graders will recite notable excerpts from the works of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. exclusively while eighth graders perform speeches from a variety of prominent individuals who comment on the Black Experience.

A select panel of judges, representative of the community, will rate the contestants. Certificates of Participation will be awarded to all, and first, second and third place trophies will be awarded to the winners on each grade.
