BERNIE AND HIS BAND WILL PLAY IN JERSEY THIS WEEKEND

Former New York Yankee baseball star centerfielder Bernie Williams and his band will be at the Newton, New Jersey Theatre at 8 p.m. this Friday, October 10 performing jazz and what Bernie tells the Rockland County Times is eclectic music.

Williams plays guitar, which he learned from his father, also a seasoned guitarist. The Williams family would play music at home and Bernie started out at the age of 8. The nine member band is headed up by Williams who is now a fultime college student.

The veteran of one subway series said a New York Yankees-New York Mets World series would be “interesting,” but the Yankees failed to hold up their end of the bargain in Tuesday’s wild card game.
