Valley Cottage cars damaged by vandals

NEW CITY – Valley Cottage residents woke on the morning of September 21 to find their cars had been used by an unknown assailant or assailants for some late night target practice.

The suspect or suspects responsible hit 12 cars on Sedge and Ridge roads with what was most likely a BB gun overnight, according to Clarkstown Police. The BBs caused mild to moderate damage, ranging from cracked paint to shattered windows and windshields.

Though at least one vehicle’s front driver side window was completely shot out and other front and back windows were visibly cracked, no items were reported missing from the cars. No injuries were reported.

Police have launched an ongoing investigation and have specifically requested anybody in the neighborhood with security cameras might be able to identify the culprit or culprits. Anybody with information can contact Clarkstown Police at (845) 639-5894.
