17-year-old Stony Pointer charged with felony possession of heroin

On Tuesday, June 2, 2015, the Stony Point Police Department arrested a 17-year-old male after a routine traffic stop led to the discovery of 37 glassine envelopes of heroin. The teenager faces charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a felony, and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a misdemeanor.

The defendant was processed and arraigned by the Honorable William F. Franks and then remanded to the Rockland County Correctional Facility in lieu of $5,000.00 bail. He is due back in the Stony Point Justice Court at a later date.

Police indicated the defendant does not currently have a permanent address but was last known to reside in Stony Point.
