After two easy electoral wins in 2011 and 2013, Finn has reportedly decided against running in 2015

Numerous sources have told the Rockland County Times that incumbent Stony Point Supervisor Geoff Finn has informed members of the political community that he will not be seeking a third term this November. Finn reportedly told several staff members the news late this week.

The news came as a shock to most insiders in Stony Point. Potential candidates are now being discussed on both sides of the political aisle.

When asked, Finn did not confirm or deny the report. He told the Rockland County Times he would address the matter in an interview next week.

“Until he declares it publicly, I won’t believe it,” one senior Stony Point official told the Rockland County Times.

Sources told the newspaper that members of the Democratic Party are working on talking Finn out of his decision.

Rockland County Times publisher Dylan Skriloff ran against Finn for the supervisor position in 2013. Skriloff said, “I heard several months ago Finn might not run but dismissed it as a silly rumor. I am as surprised as anyone.”
