HOMELESS MAN STEALS FROM POOR BOX

On Monday, April 13 at about 11:05 p.m., the Ramapo Police Department responded to the Kosher Castle Restaurant at 43 Route 59, Monsey, New York on a report of a theft in progress. Upon arrival, the officers were advised that a male party entered the restaurant, removed a charity box containing cash off the counter, and fled on foot.

Ramapo officers arrested Benjamin Pugh, age 23, near the scene of this incident. The charity box was also recovered with approximately $15 in it. Ramapo officers were assisted at the scene by Chaverim of Rockland.

Pugh was charged with petit larceny, a misdemeanor. Pugh is currently without an address and considered to be homeless.
