Rockland’s Tyson: Spring Valley man arrested for allegedly biting off piece of victim’s ear

bethancourthThe Clarkstown Police Department this week arrested Eddy Bethancourth, a 34-year-old male from Spring Valley, for allegedly assaulting a 33-year-old male from West Haverstraw. The suspect is accused of biting off a piece of the victim’s ear during a fight between the two.

On April 2, 2015 at approximately 11:30 p.m. the Clarkstown Police Department responded to a call of an assault on Dolphin Road in New City where responding patrol units observed the male victim’s right ear partially bitten off. The victim stated that the suspect, who is known to the victim, fled the scene in a red Nissan.

Clarkstown Police apprehended the suspect at his residence in Spring Valley. Eddy Bethancourth, 34, of Spring Valley was arrested on first degree assault charges and transported to police headquarters for processing.

He was arraigned in Clarkstown Justice Court, bail was set at $25,000 and was transported to the Rockland County Jail. The victim was treated at Nyack Hospital.
