ROCKLAND COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

Haywood mugDWI
Michael Haywood, age 33, residing in Congers, NY, was arrested on March 28, 2015 for DWI. A Sheriff Patrol Officer observed Haywood operating a motor vehicle on Route 303 in an erratic manner.  The subject was found to be intoxicated and arrested. The subject was processed at Sheriff Headquarters in New City and released on summonses to return to Clarkstown Justice Court.
DWI
Villalobos-Arias mug
Hugo Villalobos-Aris, age 45, of Spring Valley, NY, was arrested on March 22 for aggravated DWI, DWI and aggravated unlicensed operation in the third degree. A Sheriff Patrol Officer observed the above subject operating a motor vehicle erratically on South Main St. Spring Valley.  The subject was found to be intoxicated and arrested. The subject was processed at Sheriff headquarters in New City and released on summonses to return to Spring Valley Justice Court.

 

 

DWI
GARCIA MUGTony Garcia, age 44, residing in West Haverstraw, NY, was arrested on March 29, 2015 for DWI. A Sheriff Patrol Officer observed the subject operating a motor vehicle on Route 45 in an erratic manner. The subject was found to be intoxicated and arrested. The subject was processed at Sheriff Headquearters in New City and held for arraignment. The subject was arraigned at the Ramapo Justice Court and remanded to the Rockland Co Jail on $1,000 bail and directed to return to Ramapo Justice Court on April 1, 2015.
ROCKLAND COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE POLICE DIVISION:

FORGERY
BRIAN KINGBrian King, age 22, of Nyack, NY, was arrested on March 17, 2015 for forgery in the second degree. Mr. King was arrested by detectives from the Rockland County Sheriff’s Office and lodged in Rockland County Jail awaiting arraignment on a later date for the warrant.

 

CRIMINAL POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE
ChristianMinayaChristian Minaya, age 21, residing in Garnerville, NY, was arrested on March 18, 2015 for criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree. The subject was located in Orange County NY and returned to Rockland County by detectives from the Rockland County Sheriff’s Office. Subject was then lodged at Rockland County Jail awaiting arraignment on a later date for the warrant.

ROBBERY & ATTEMPTED ASSAULT
MARK SMITHMark Smith, age 24, residing in Newburgh, NY, was arrested on March 19, 2015 for robbery in the third degree and attempted assault in the second degree. The subject was arrested on outstanding Felony Bench Warrant issued on February 28, 2012 by Rockland County, County Court Judge Nelson. The subject was arrested in the City of Newburgh, and transported back to Rockland by Rockland County Sheriff’s Office Detectives. The subject is being held at the Rockland County Jail awaiting future court appearances.

 

BURGLARY
Ronaldo MaldonadoRonaldo Maldonado, age 19, residing in Suffern, NY, was arrested on March 23, 2015 for burglary in the third degree. The subject was arrested and lodged at Rockland County jail by detectives from the Rockland County Sheriff’s Office awaiting arraignment on a later date for the warrant.

FAILURE TO RESPOND TO FAMILY COURT
Keith Craig, age 43, residing in Sloatsburg, NY, was arrested on March 18, 2015 for violation of article 4 of the family court act. The subject was arrested on an outstanding Family Court warrant issued on December 19, 2014 by Rockland County Family Court Judge Warren, for failure to respond to Family Court for arrears in excess of $110,603, which is owed to the private petitioner. The subject was arraigned by the Honorable Judge Eisenpress of the Rockland County Family Court and was released with a return court date of June 1, 2015 at 2:30 p.m.

ORANGETOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT:

CRIMINAL POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA
Henry Louis Paredes, age 22, from Maspeth, NY, and John Nguyen, age 22, from Spring Valley, NY, were arrested on March 19 and charged with criminal possession of marijuana in the fifth degree, a misdemeanor. At 3 p.m., Orangetown officers arrested the two and one other, all of whom were sitting in a parked vehicle in the parking lot of 197 Sickles Ave. Nyack, NY. The officers detected a strong smell of burning marijuana and smoke emanating from the vehicle and they found the two subjects each smoking marijuana wrapped in cigar paper. They are due in Nyack Court on April 2, 2015. Additionally, a third passenger in the vehicle, Johnathan Laguerre, age 24, from Spring Valley, NY, was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a misdemeanor. Mr. Laguerre was found to be in possession of Adderall for which he did not have a prescription. Mr. Laguerre is also due in Nyack Court on April 2, 2015.

DWI

Joseph McFadden, age 32, from Glenolden, PA, was arrested for DWI on March 20, 2015 at 2:10 a.m. on North Middletown Road in Pearl River. Mr. McFadden was driving a 2010 Ford erratically and he failed field sobriety tests. Mr. McFadden was taken to Orangetown Police Department Headquarters where he submitted to a chemical breath test. Mr. McFadden’s BAC registered two times the legal limit of .08%. Mr. McFadden was charged with DWI, a misdemeanor, and traffic violations and is due in Orangetown Court on April 14, 2015.

PETIT LARCENY
Jamie-Leigh Loreng, age 28, of Montvale, NJ, was arrested on March 27, 2015 for shoplifting. Orangetown Police officers arrested the subject for petit larceny, a misdemeanor, at the Pearl River ShopRite. A store loss prevention officer observed the subject place perishable food items into a yellow ShopRite bag including three live lobsters, one package of salmon fillets and one package of salmon sushi. The subject left the store without paying for the items worth $90.62. The subject was released on $200 bail and is due in Orangetown Court on April 8, 2015.

CRIMINAL POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE

Samantha R Tenyeck, age 19, of Old Tappan, NJ, was arrested on March 21, 2015 at 3:15 p.m. The officer observed the subject walking on South Broadway and was aware that she had an active bench warrant from Spring Valley Police Department for possession of a hypodermic instrument. The officer took the subject into custody and discovered that she was in possession of 12 glassine envelopes containing heroin and two Suboxone pills. The subject was charged with Criminal Possession of a controlled Substance in the seventh degree, a misdemeanor, and is due in Nyack Court on April 21. The subject was turned over to Spring Valley police officers in regards to the active bench warrant.

IDENTITY THEFT
Joel Rabinowitz, 31, of Congers, was arrested on March 23, 2015 on a felony charge of identity theft in the second degree. Mr. Rabinowitz was accused of opening a credit card in the name of a woman residing Blauvelt and then charging more than $500 to said card. Mr. Rabinowitz has appeared in Orangetown Justice Court to answer to the charges and the case is still pending.

UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA
A 17-year-old from Nyack was arrested on Main Street in Nyack, NY at approximately 3:30 p.m. on March 23, 2015 for unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation. During a motor vehicle stop for inadequate brake lights, officers discover the 17-year-old male to have a substance alleged to be marijuana in a large glass jar, as well as a small scale. He was released on an appearance ticket and is due back in Nyack Village Court on April 28, 2015.
CRIMINAL POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE
Jordan Giglotti, 21, of Pearl River, NY, was arrested at approximately 1:26 a.m. on March 24, 2015 for criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a class A misdemeanor. Mr. Gigliotti was in possession of five smalls bags of a substance that is allegedly heroin. He posted bail and is due to appear for arraignment in Orangetown Justice Court on April 14 at 9 a.m.
MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION
At approximately 8::05 a.m. a 2012 BMW SUV driving south on Eisenhower Court entered Convent Road striking a garbage truck travelling westbound, puncturing the trucks fuel tank. The driver and one passenger in the BMW sustained minor injuries.

Orangetown Police, Rockland Paramedics, South Orangetown Police, Orangeburg Fire Department, and Rockland County Hazardous Materials Team responded. The crash is currently under investigation by the Orangetown Police: at the time of this press release sun glare appears to be the major contributing factor. Rockland County Hazardous Materials Team and Casiton Environmental Contractors are on scene continuing to the spilled fuel.
SUFFERN POLICE DEPARTMENT:

DWI
Michael R. Ryan, age 38, residing at 5 Kwiecinski St., West Haverstraw, NY, was arrested on March 22, 2015 at 3:30 a.m. for aggravated DWI. The defendant was stopped after an officer on radar patrol on Rt. 202 observed him driving erratically on this road by swerving and continually drastically changing the speed of his vehicle. After being arrested he was given a breathalyzer where he was found to be over three times the legal limit. He was charged with Aggravated DWI and after arraignment was sent to the Rockland County Jail on $1,000 bail pending a future court date of April 7 in Suffern Justice Court.

 

FORGERY & CRIMINAL POSSESSION OF FORGED INSTRUMENT
Thomasine McCallister, age 55, residing at 1315 Rt. 17 South, Ramsey, NJ, was arrested on March 24, 2015 for forgery in the second degree and criminal possession of a forged instrument in the second degree, both D felonies. The defendant was stopped for speeding on Lafayette Ave. at approximately 5 a.m. and when the officer approached the vehicle he noticed that the temporary license plate on the vehicle looked suspicious. After an investigation it was learned that this plate was intentionally altered and changed. After a further investigation the defendant was arrested and upon being processed and arraigned she was released on $200 bail pending a future court date of April 7 in Suffern Justice Court.
