REDC PRESENTS ITS 2014 ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AWARDS

On November 14, nearly 300 people gathered to applaud the efforts of the honorees at REDC’s 20th Annual Economic Development Awards Luncheon. Sponsored by TD Bank, REDC presented awards to companies, organizations and individuals for their leadership, dedication and commitment to Rockland’s economic vitality and have substantially enhanced the local business climate. Held at the Dolce IBM Executive Conference Center in Palisades, NY, the message was clear that Rockland continues to flourish with its diverse businesses that are driving the County’s economy forward.

The 2014 honorees included:

William F. Helmer, president, Helmer-Cronin Construction with the Award of Distinction, for his ongoing dedication, commitment and contributions to the Rockland community; ADH Health Products is a leading manufacturer and pioneer in the natural products industry, providing innovative health and dietary supplements, was presented with the Manufacturer of the Year Award; Michael and Scott Haber of W&W Glass, LLP, New York’s largest architectural glass and metal contractors specializing in custom walls, storefronts and interior glazing, received the Entrepreneur of the Year Award for their entrepreneurial spirit; United Way of Rockland County, celebrating its 50th year of service to Rockland County, was presented with the Service Provider of the Year Award. United Way increases the value and impact of community support and resources through collaboration that advance the common good of our residents; Orange and Rockland Utilities’ Economic Development Team received the President’s Award in recognition of their continued support of REDC as a strategic economic development partner in efforts including their corporate attraction/external marketing campaign “Address for Success,” site-selection facilitation and leadership role on REDC Real Estate Council.

In addition, Joseph Tracy, Executive Vice President and Special Advisor to the President of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, served as the luncheon keynote speaker.
