Home invader pistol whips elderly Pomona man

Haverstraw police are searching for a home invader who attacked an elderly man on Dunnigan St. in Pomona last Saturday, pistol-whipping him and threatening his granddaughter and her boyfriend before leaving.

The man, who was described as a thin, 5-foot-9 black man who wore a mask and hoodie, entered the home through a sliding door at around 3 a.m. before accosting the resident, who was in his 70s. After the older man demanded to know who the intruder was and attempted to fight back, the home invader beat him repeatedly with a pistol.

After the man’s daughter ran upstairs to assist her father, the intruder held her and her boyfriend at gunpoint, demanding the boyfriend open the back door. The intruder then escaped, leaving his victim with non-life-threatening injuries.
