GOLF EVENT HELD FOR AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION’S GO RED FOR WOMEN CAMPAIGN

unnamed (1)Active International, based in Pearl River, hosted the Heart of Champions golf challenge on September 23 at Hudson National Golf Course in Croton to benefit the Tri-County American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women campaign and the Active International Cardiovascular Institute at Good Samaritan Hospital.

Thirty-four foursomes, or 136 golfers set out for an 18-hole round, shotgun start golf tournament to support cardiovascular disease research and programs. The event also featured a silent auction.

“The Heart of Champions Golf Challenge brings the media community together every year to network and raise money. This year we succeeded in raising more than $100,000 for AHA’s Go Red for Women Campaign and the Active International Cardiovascular Institute,” said Active International’s Dennis Quinn, executive vice president, U.S. Media.

The golf event is one of two regional events to support the AHA’s Go Red For Women campaign. The Go Red For Women Luncheon is set for October 30 at West Hills Country Club in Middletown. New York Times bestselling author and leading health and nutrition authority, Joy Bauer, has been announced as the keynote speaker.
