Possible dangers of transport of crude oil through the Hudson Valley to be opened to a public forum

New City, NY (September 16, 2014)) – Rockland County Legislature Chairman Alden H. Wolfe and Legislator Harriet Cornell, Chairwoman of the Environmental Committee have invited the environmental advocate organizations Riverkeeper and Scenic Hudson to a public forum to present information about the rise in rail and river transport of volatile crude oil through the Hudson Valley, the specific risks facing Rockland County and neighboring communities and to learn about resources for first responders. The forum will take place Monday, September 22 from 7 – 8:30 p.m. at the chamber of the Rockland County Legislature, 11 New Hempstead Rd., New City.
