ED DAY’S STATEMENT REGARDING THE RE-HIRING OF THE EAST RAMAPO SCHOOL DISTRICT LAW FIRM MINERVA & D’AGOSTINO

In response to the rehiring of the law firm Minerva & D’Agostino by the East Ramapo School District after the well reported incidents of principal Albert D’Agostino and attorney Christopher Kirby and the Board president Mr. Weissmandl pledge to replace said firm nearly a year ago, find County Executive Ed Day’s statement below:

“Trust is central to any relationship, and by the actions of Mr. Weissmandl and the East Ramapo School Board, he has set back any opportunity of bridging a divide well beyond repair. Mr. Weissmandl cannot lie to an entire County and have any expectation of respect or legitimacy. As the County Executive of this great county, there is only one way that I see that  the huge division he has now created repaired, and to that end I am calling upon him to do the honorable thing by resigning immediately. He cannot reasonably expect to manage a school district when each and every word he utters going forward will be measured by the word he did not keep. In short, his leadership position is now untenable, and his resignation is clearly indicated.”
