Antrim Theatre Announces 78th Consecutive Season for 2014-2015

The Tom France Theatre at Antrim Playhouse on Spook Rock Road in Wesley Hills will produce “12 Angry Men,” “A Christmas Carol,” “Plaza Suite,” “Deathtrap” and “The 39 Steps” starting in September and running through June. Antrim Theatre President Marty Andreas says they are offering a season deal where patrons can see all five shows for just $99.

In “12 Angry Men,” a 19-year-old stands trial for the fatal stabbing of his father. “He doesn’t stand a chance,” mutters the guard as the jurors are taken into the bleak jury room. It looks like an open and shut case until one of the jurors begins opening the other jurors eyes to the facts. A gripping drama, not to be missed this fall, September 19 to October 19.

Antrim’s blockbuster musical, in association with the Helen Hayes Youth Theatre, “A Christmas Carol,” will be the event of the holiday season, says Antrim. It will take you back to 19th Century London with the theatre decorated, ushers in period costumes and choirs singing.

Neil Simon’s “Plaza Suite,” a hilarious comedy nominated for three Tony Awards and winner of best director Tony, will be presented January 16 to February 8, 2015.

“Deathtrap,” one of Broadway’s biggest hits, ran for four years and combines the basic components of thrillers and horror stories, murder, deceit, reversals, and twisted turns of events and will run March 6 through March 29, 2015.

“The 39 Steps,” June 8 through June 28, 2015, mixes a Hitchcock masterpiece with a juicy spy novel and a dash of Monty Python. It is described as a fast paced whodunnit with 150 characters, an on-stage plane crash, handcuffs, missing fingers and some good old fashioned romance.
