Rockland County Office of Fire and Emergency Services Warns of Heavy Rain

Advisory: Potential for Heavy Rain this weekend

The Rockland County Office of Fire and Emergency warns that weather forecasts see an increasing chance of a 2 to 4 inch rainfall starting Saturday afternoon and ending Monday morning.

Light rain is forecast to develop and spread northeast across the area Saturday morning. Rain will become moderate Saturday afternoon with periods of heavy rain possible through Sunday night.

Although rainfall for March has ranged from 2 to 3 inches below normal across the region, heavy rainfall will increase storm runoff resulting in the likelihood of poor drainage and urban flooding, FES warns.
