Stony Point Crimes 3/10/14

PETIT LARCENY & CRIMINAL POSSESSION OF STOLEN PROPERTY
Michelle L. Jackson, age 34, residing at 20 James St., Tomkins Cove, NY, and Erica Perez, residing at 20 James St., Tomkins Cove, NY, were arrested on March 13 for petit larceny and criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth degree. The defendants were arrested following an investigation into a shoplifting that occurred at Rite Aid in the Town of Stony Point. Subsequent to said investigation, Defendant #1 was found in possession of items removed from above location without paying. Defendant # 2 was only charged with Petit Larceny. The defendants were arrested, processed and released on an appearance ticket returnable April 1, 2014 at 9 a.m.

AGGRAVATED UNLICENSED OPERATION
Matthew R. Haughton, age 24, residing at 94 Monarch Dr., Newburgh, NY, was arrested on February 28 for aggravated unlicensed operation in the third degree. The defendant was arrested after a vehicle and traffic stop revealed that he was operating a motor vehicle while his NYS DLIC was suspended for failing to pay driver responsibility assessment. The defendant was arrested, processed and released on several traffic tickets returnable April 1 at 9 a.m.

AGGRAVATED UNLICENSED OPERATION
Brian Estrella, age 22, residing at 102 Samsondale Ave., West Haverstraw, NY, was arrested on February 27 for aggravated unlicensed operation in the second degree. The defendant was picked up by the Village of Spring Valley Police Department on an active bench warrant for stated charge. The defendant was turned over to the Stony Point Police Department where he was arrested, processed arraigned. He was later released on an appearance ticket returnable March 6 at 1:30 p.m. after posting $285 cash bail.

AGGRAVATED UNLICENSED OPERATION
Casey Rich, age 31, residing at 273 Route 210, Stony Point, NY, was arrested on February 26 for aggravated unlicensed operator, second degree. The defendant was arrested after she turned herself in on an active bench warrant. The defendant was arrested, processed and arraigned. She was later released on an appearance ticket returnable March 20 after posting $150 cash bail.

AGGRAVATED UNLICENSED OPERATION
Darko Ostroski, age 55, residing at 36 Hudson Dr. Stony Point, NY, was arrested on February 25 for aggravated unlicensed operator, third degree and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration. The defendant was arrested after an LPR equipped patrol vehicle alerted the officer that the defendants’ vehicle registration was suspended. Subsequent to a vehicle and traffic stop, it was confirmed that said vehicle’s registration was in fact suspended and that the defendants’ NYSDLIC was also suspended for an insurance lapse. The defendant was arrested, processed and released on several traffic tickets returnable on March 20 after posting $30 bail.
