Coogan and Hobbs

Robert C. Hobbs, 31, of Bontecou Rd., Stony Point has been charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, a D-felony.

Hobbs was being investigated by Haverstraw police on unrelated charges, when a home search revealed an unlicensed, loaded 9mm handgun. The Stony Point Police Department was informed and arrested Hobbs and remanded him to the Rockland County Correctional Facility in lieu of $100,000 bail.

He remains incarcerated awaiting a hearing in Stony Point Justice Court.

The whole affair began when Hobbs’ housemate Christopher Coogan allegedly stole a car, drawing heat to their address at 24 Bontecou Rd. Coogan was eventually busted on charges of grand larceny in the fourth degree, an E-felony, and criminal possession of a stolen property, also an E-felony. Coogan’s bail was set at $3,500.
