Clarkstown Police Report on School Bus Accident

The Clarkstown Police Department is currently investigating a school bus & car accident which occurred on Rt 304 at the intersection with Laurel Rd in New City.

Preliminary info is as follows: six students (all juveniles) were on the bus all of which received minor injuries.  All six passengers are being transported to Nyack Hospital for precautionary purposes. The bus driver sustained cuts/bruises and is also being transported to the hospital. The vehicle was occupied by two people both of which also are being transported to the hospital. No injury appears to be serious or life threatening at this time.

The bus is a Clarkstown Central School District smaller 16 passenger bus which was transporting students from the Rockland Jewish Academy. The bus was heading east across Rt 304 on Laurel Rd.  The car was heading north on Rt 304.  Initial reports are that the car may have passed a red light causing the accident. The bus rolled onto its side.
