On Friday, August 23 Fort Hood shooter Nidal Hasan was found guilty on all 13 counts of premeditated murder and 32 counts of attempted premeditated murder. On Wednesday, August 28 Hassan was sentenced to death.
During the trial Hasan took ownership of his actions and justified them by his belief in jihad. By all accounts including his own, the army major previously employed as a psychiatrist, intended to kill as many servicemen and women as possible.
Thirteen died and nearly two score were injured due to Hassan’s act.
