FEINSTEIN WINS SPYING AWARD

The Constitutional Rights Association announced Wednesday that it has bestowed its Honecker Dunce Award, to Senator Diane Feinstein of California and Congressman Mike Rogers of Michigan for their work in furthering domestic spying and mass surveillance.

The Honecker Dunce Award is the most prestigious award that the Association can bestow on an elected official for violating their oath to protect and defend the US Constitution. The fact that NSA mass surveillance and domestic spying is targeting more than 100 million American citizens, without a warrant or a showing of probable cause, was a deciding factor in choosing today’s worthy recipients.

More than an achievement for mediocrity, these two public servants have stood head and shoulders above their colleagues when it comes to facilitating and endorsing the NSA’s mass surveillance of the American people. In making this award, the awards committee took special note of the chutzpa demonstrated by both of today’s honorees in their claims that the domestic spying on, and the mass surveillance of average American citizens, was for America’s own good.

“The damage that has been done to our democracy and our civil liberties by these two public servants is unfathomable,” noted the awards committee in a statement released today. “The uploading of the daily phone records of millions and millions of American citizens to the NSA is just the tip of the iceberg regarding the domestic spying and mass surveillance programs. Private communications and private personal data on every American citizen are now being gathered and stored by the NSA because of the utter failure of there two politicians to do their job in running the oversight committees.

Incredibly, today’s honorees seem to have never objected that these mass surveillance and domestic spying programs violate the very Constitution which they swore to uphold and defend. In their failure to act, they have brought disgrace upon themselves and the institutions they represent.”

The Constitutional Rights Association, Inc. is a nonprofit formed to engage the public in a campaign to end the mass surveillance of American citizens by the NSA.
