Police accuse Kadeem of attempting to cash a fraudulent check

Stony Point Police say that 21-year-old Kadeem Swaby of Middletown came to town on Wednesday, July 17 and attempted to cash a $1,031.09 fraudulent check. He is now charged with two felonies: criminal possession of a forged instrument (D-felony) and attempted grand larceny (E-felony).

The Stony Point Police responded to the TD Bank on Rte. 9W in Stony Point after being summoned by staff. Arriving officers observed the defendant exiting the location and a brief foot pursuit ensued. The defendant was taken into custody a short distance from the bank, in the vicinity of the Liberty Square Shopping Plaza. The defendant was arrested, processed and arraigned before being released on an appearance ticket returnable August 1.
