Another Child Struck in Monsey

MONSEY — In what is a disturbingly frequent occurence in the hamlet of Monsey, a child was struck by a motor vehicle Sunday evening.

At approximately 8:30 p.m. Ramapo Police responded to Albert Drive in Monsey to investigate a motor vehicle accident and found that a 2-year-old male child had run from his house out into the roadway where he was struck by a 2011 Toyota Camry. The child suffered minor injuries to his face and was tended to on scene by Hatzoloh Ambulance before being transported to Westchester Medical Center for further medical evaluation.

The driver of the vehicle involved remained on scene and was interviewed by responding officers. The incident is currently under investigation and at this time no traffic summonses have been issued.
