THERE MAY BE SEVERE WEATHER SUNDAY

PSA from Rockland County government

A series of weather features have come into alignment to produce a risk of thunderstorms Sunday afternoon and evening. The greatest threat from these storms is damaging straight-line winds. There is also the slight possibility of large hail or an isolated tornado. Heavy rain will accompany these systems, and may lead to localized flash flooding, and ponding of water in urban areas or on roadways.

State OEM has been monitoring this evolving situation, and will have additional staff available on Sunday to track the system. Based on the current forecast a State EOC activation is not expected, but may change if the situation dictates.
