ED DAY WILL RUN ON PRESERVE RAMAPO LINE

Preserve Ramapo Chairman Bob Rhodes confirmed to the Rockland County Times that not only has Ed Day received the advocacy group’s endorsement, his name will appear on their ballot line in the Town of Ramapo during the 2013 general election.

Day’s appearance on the Preserve Ramapo line figures to earn him hundreds of votes from Democrats who might otherwise refuse to back a Republican candidate, although it may also cost votes from non-bloc Jewish voters and others who are skeptical of Preserve Ramapo.

The religious community bloc vote already figures to go to the Democratic challenger.

UPDATE—Ed Day released a statement indicating the Preserve Ramapo endorsement will be parlayed into a countywide line featuring Day’s name and appearing on ballots in all towns. The name of the new line has yet to be announced.
