David Fried announced this week that former President Bill Clinton formally endorsed his candidacy for Rockland County Executive.
Fried said the endorsement was conveyed by Rep. Nita Lowey at a fundraiser that was hosted by Adam & Denise Lipson for Fried.
President Clinton gave the following endorsement: “I worked closely with David Fried when he served in my administration, traveling the country and world with me and Hillary. I have followed his career and I believe he has the vision and experience to lead Rockland forward to a new era of fiscal responsibility and government accountability. I am happy to endorse my friend David Fried for Rockland County Executive.”
David Fried was a presidential advance aide during the Clinton Administration from 1998 to 2001. Mr. Fried stated, “I am proud and humbled that President Clinton has the confidence in my experience and skills to trust that I am the best person to lead Rockland County out of the financial crisis facing our community.”
Rockland Democrats are abuzz at the endorsement and the question everyone has is, “Will Bill be the guest of honor at a fundraiser in Rockland on Fried’s behalf?”
