GRAND LARCENY
Anthony Giannattasio, age 27, residing at 551 Avalon Gardens Drive, Nanuet, NY, was sentenced April 17, 2013, before New York State Supreme Court Justice William A. Kelly to a state prison term of 3-9 years after pleading guilty to grand larceny in the second degree. District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe stated that on or about and between March 1 and September 30, 2011, the defendant is a personal banker who befriended an elderly couple and then stole their money. The defendant obtained an ATM card for the couples’ Chase bank account and withdrew a total of $82,560 from April to September, 2011.

ARSON
Jonathan Barillas, age 16, residing at 38 South Franklin St., Nyack, NY, was sentenced April 17, 2013, before New York State Supreme Court Justice William A. Kelly to a state prison term of 2-6 years after pleading guilty to arson in the third degree. District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe stated that on or about and between August 10, 2012 and August 13, 2012, the defendant knowingly entered a business located at 13 Catherine Street, Nyack without permission and authority, and stole property, including a computer keyboard. On or about August 21, 2012, the defendant intentionally set fire to four separate parked vehicles located in a two-block radius in downtown Nyack. One of the vehicle fires at 35 Summit Street spread to the residential home, causing damage. When the defendant was arrested, he was in possession of a Shell credit card in the name of Avon Cooper, which he stole, without permission, from a vehicle.

BURGLARY
Troy Webber, age 37, residing at 167 Perry Street 1Q, NY, was indicted on April 17, 2013 by a Rockland County Grand Jury for the crime of burglary in the third degree. District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe stated that on or about March 12, 2013 at approximately 12 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., the defendant entered the Sportsview Bar located on Wayne Avenue in the Town of Stony Point through a window. While in the bar, the defendant took approximately $320 from the cash register and draw under the register.

CRIMINAL CONTEMPT
Grevon James, age 35, residing at 265 South Little Tor Road, New City, NY, was indicted on April 17, 2013 by a Rockland County Grand Jury for the crimes of criminal contempt in the first degree. District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe stated that on or about October 25, 2012, at approximately 10:03 p.m., the defendant grabbed the neck of the victim, causing redness to her neck, in violation of an order of protection issued by the Clarkstown Justice Court and in effect from August 15, 2012 through August 14, 2013.

BURGLARY
Jayquan Boone, age 20, residing at 56 Spring Valley Commons, Spring Valley, NY, was indicted on April 17, 2013 by a Rockland County Grand Jury for the crimes of burglary in the second degree (five counts) and burglary in the third degree. District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe stated that on or about and between February 12, 2013 and March 24, 2013, the defendant unlawfully entered into five different residences and stole property consisting of televisions, jewelry and computers.

GRAND LARCENY & CRIMINAL POSSESSION OF STOLEN PROPERTY
Edward Jimenez, age 55, residing at 721 White Plains Road, Bronx, NY, was indicted on April 17, 2013 by a Rockland County Grand Jury for the crimes of grand larceny in the fourth degree (two counts) and criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree (two counts). District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe stated that on or about February 7, 2013 at approximately 5 p.m. in the Target Store located at 50 Spring Valley Marketplace in the Village of Spring Valley, the defendant selected 2 Dyson vacuums and left the store through the fire door without paying for the items. The defendant was not apprehended on February 7, 2013 and the vacuums were never recovered. On or about February 20, 2013 at approximately 9:45 p.m., the defendant returned to the Target Store located at 50 Spring Valley Marketplace in the Village of Spring Valley. The defendant again selected two Dyson vacuums to steal by walking toward the fire door of the store with the vacuums. The defendant saw that security was watching him so, after passing all payment points he ran out of the store without the vacuums and was arrested shortly thereafter.

CRIMINAL POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE
Clinton Morris, age 45, residing at 87 East Front St., Hancock, NY, was indicted on April 17, 2013 by a Rockland County Grand Jury for the crimes of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree and seventh degree. District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe stated that on or about April 6, 2013 at approximately 12:15 a.m., the defendant was a passenger in a vehicle traveling on the NYS Thruway in the Town of Clarkstown. The vehicle was stopped by a State Trooper for speeding and moving from lane unsafely. After a search, the defendant was found to be in possession of approximately 6.5 grams of cocaine.

BURGLARY, CRIMINAL POSSESSION OF STOLEN PROPERTY & GRAND LARCENY
Jaime Tovias-Umana, age 19, residing at 14 Island Road, Ramsey, NJ, was indicted on April 10, 2013 by a Rockland County Grand Jury for the crimes of burglary in the second degree, criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree and grand larceny in the fourth degree. District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe stated that on or about March 25, 2013 at approximately 4:34 a.m., the defendant entered a residence where the homeowners were present and asleep. The homeowner woke up when he heard a door open and confronted the defendant. The homeowner detained the defendant until the police arrived. The homeowner recovered several items from the defendant’s pockets, including a wallet containing credit cards.

DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED
Nathan Watson, age 46, residing at 39 Catamount Drive, Spring Valley, NY, was indicted on April 17, 2013 by a Rockland County Grand Jury for the crime of driving while intoxicated, as a felony (two counts). District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe stated that on or about October 4, 2012 at approximately 11:00 p.m., a member of the Spring Valley Police Department was alerted to an accident at the Super Value Gas Station located on North Main Street in the Village. The officer observed the defendant to be in an intoxicated condition. The defendant had slurred speech, glassy eyes and an odor of alcoholic beverage. The defendant’s blood alcohol content was .11%. The defendant had a previous DWI in 2005 in the Town of Clarkstown.

BRIBE RECEIVING, FALSIFYING BUSINSS RECORDS & MORE
Hulen Ginn, age 41, residing at 11 Bee Street, Valley Stream, NY, was indicted on April 10, 2013 by a Rockland County Grand Jury for the crimes of bribe receiving in the third degree (five counts), receiving a reward for official misconduct in the second degree (five counts) and falsifying business records in the second degree (five counts). District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe stated that on or about June 8, 2012 to October 17, 2012, while employed by the Rockland County Road to Recovery DTAP program, the defendant solicited and accepted bribes in return for getting DTAP participants out of the program early or allowing them to avoid attending the half-way house requirement of their DTAP agreement. The defendant was arrested on October 17, 2012 after an investigation by the Rockland County District Attorney’s Office. He was arraigned before the Hon. John Grant of the Town of Haverstraw Justice Court. He was released after posting $10,000.00 bail pending future court appearances.

ATTEMPTED ARSON, BURGLARY & CRIMINAL MISCHIEF
Sergey Zavalko, age 45, residing at 2033 Route 208, Montgomery, NY, was indicted on April 19, 2013 by a Rockland County Grand Jury for the crimes of attempted arson in the third degree, burglary in the third degree and criminal mischief in the second degree. District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe stated that on or about October 27, 2012, the defendant broke into a church located on West Church St., in the Village of Spring Valley ad stole multiple candles. The defendant lit the candles and threw them thru the second floor window and into building. The defendant also threw a container with combustible liquid into the building. The defendant was detained until the police arrived.

ROBBERY
Ruben Joseph, age 17, residing at 10 Chestnut Street, Suffern, NY, was indicted on April 19, 2013 by a Rockland County Grand Jury for the crime of robbery in the first degree. District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe stated that on or about November 3, 2012 at approximately 7:40 p.m., after the victim gave defendant a cab ride to Central Nyack, the defendant put a knife to the victim’s neck and stole the victim’s cellular telephone.

DWI & AUO
William Salguero, age 35, residing at 36A Bridge Street, Newburgh, NY, was indicted on April 19, 2013 by a Rockland County Grand Jury for the crimes of driving while intoxicated, as a felony, and aggravated unlicensed operation in the first degree. District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe stated that on or about February 23, 2013 at approximately 6:10 a.m., a NYS Trooper observed the defendant’s car stopped on the shoulder and the defendant was behind the wheel of the vehicle. Upon further investigation, the trooper observed the defendant to be in an intoxicated state. The defendant failed various field sobriety tests and his blood alcohol content was .14%. The defendant’s NYS driver’s license was suspended for prior DWI convictions.

CRIMINAL POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE & UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA
William Smith, age 34, residing at  220 East St, Apt. 11A, NY, Denyco Gonzalez, age 22, residing at 307 W. First Street, Elmira, NY, and Quen Rosario, age 21, residing at 375 East Center St., Elmira, NY, were indicted on April 19, 2013 by a Rockland County Grand Jury for the crimes of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree (two counts) and fourth degree and unlawful possession of marijuana (two counts). District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe stated that on or about April 4, 2013 at approximately 2:30 p.m., the defendant’s vehicle was stopped for traffic and vehicle violations while traveling on the NYS Thruway in the Town of Ramapo. The defendants were found to be in possession of cocaine and marijuana.
