Comedian Mike Vecchione, born in Youngstown, Ohio was originally heading in a different professional direction, obtaining a master’s degree in criminal justice at Pennsylvania State University and started teaching over an eight-year period. But being a standup comic was what he wanted and that is what he is today.

Making an encore appearance at the popular Turning Point Cafe, which he says is a great venue, Vecchione says his comedy is sometimes topical and sometimes autobiographical. Moving to New York City in 2003, Mike has appeared on Comedy Central’s Live at Gotham, Comedy Central’s Fresh Face Debates, and Russell Simmons Presents. He also has had a guest appearance on the IFC hit show Z Rock.

Vecchione 2010 won the New York Comedy Festival and was a semifinalist on NBC’s Last Comic Standing and has been on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. He headlines across the USA and is based in New York City. Vecchione will also be at Sam’s of Gedney Way in White Plains on Saturday, March 9.
