ST. PETER’S CONTINUES FUNDRAISING EFFORTS TO SAVE THEIR SCHOOL

- Volunteers for St. Peter's Catholic School hold a fundraiser outside Stop and Shop in West Haverstraw this past weekend

It could have been a better 150th birthday year for St. Peter’s as the oldest school in Rockland County received the bad news that it is slated to be closed.

However, supporters have not given up, as St. Peter’s School in Haverstraw has crossed the critical $500,000 mark in their fundraising efforts to save the school. School administrators have recently presented the Archdiocese with a plan to save the school, and donations continue to pour in. The next major fundraiser is a “Dine and Donate” party Thursday, January 17, 6 p.m. at Vito & Michael S. Gourmet Pizzeria on Broadway in Haverstraw.
In a new program, benefactors can sponsor St. Peter children for $1,500 per year. Call Margaret Hamilton, principal, at 845-429-5311 or email [email protected] if you are interested in sponsoring a child.
