SEGUNDO THE KNIFER

The perpetrator of a brutal knife attack last year, Segundo Loja-Llivicota, 26, of Spring Valley was found guilty on Wednesday of second degree assault, said Rockland County District Attorney Thomas Zugibe.

The attack happened on August 23, 2011, when Loja-Llivicota cornered the victim and attacked him with a knife, causing serious injuries. Allegedly the attack was the result of a love triangle dispute. The victim, Loja-Llivicota’s former roommate, has since made a full recovery.

The Honorable William Nelson presided over the sever day trial, and recommended a maximum sentence of seven years in state prison for Loja-Llivicota. His sentencing is scheduled for February 26, 2013.
