The First Annual Nyack Film Festival Starts This Weekend!

This Friday, August 17 – Sunday, August 19, The Nyack Village Theater will screen a program of the latest in independent films.
Why a local film festival? Local festivals like the Nyack Film Festival bring rarely seen little gems to the community. These festivals provide entertainment for both younger and older audiences. Another opportunity to bring this great town together as a community.
The Nyack Village Theater will host independent films like the award-winning “A Girl, A Guy, A Space Helmet,” written & directed by native New Yorker Mike Timm, this indie sci-fi romantic comedy includes music from local Nyack resident Bob Timm.
Bob Timm is a new resident of Nyack, having moved here in the spring of 2012 with his wife, Donna, and four adventurous kids. Bob’s a drummer who’s been active for many years with some of New York’s best ska and reggae musicians. His current band, The Hard Times, is about to be featured in “Brooklyn Rocksteady” – an independent documentary about the revival of vintage reggae music. For all show times & tickets, visit www.nyackvillagetheatre.com
“A Girl, A Guy, A Space Helmet” plays in Session 2 which starts at 10 p.m. and also includes shorts films “That’s Amore” and “Perfidia.” Come out and support your local festival and enjoy the audience experience. See you at the Nyack Village Theater.
