Major Stony Point Larceny Bust

Robert M. Campbell, male, 22, of 29 Grandview Dr. Bloomingburg, NY, was busted on June 6 of seven charges: Burglary 2nd, Att. Burglary 2nd, Criminal Trespass 2nd, Criminal Trespass 3rd, Att. Grand Larceny 4th, Criminal Mischief 4th, Possession of Burglar’s Tools.

Campbell is the suspected culprit behind a number of burglaries within the town over the past several months. The defendant was spotted by an alert member of the Detective Bureau during the late morning hours of June 6, 2012 operating a vehicle that was believed to be involved in an earlier case. The Stony Point Detective Bureau were able to quickly set up a surveillance on said vehicle, which led them to a residence where the defendant was observed committing another burglary within the Town. The detectives, with
the assistance of patrol members were able to apprehend the defendant while exiting from the residence he had just broken into.

The defendant was taken into custody without incident. The above defendant is a person of interest in numerous other burglaries throughout New York and New Jersey. The defendant was arrested, processed, and arraigned before the Honorable Judge Frank Phillips at which time he was remanded to the Rockland County Correctional Facility in lieu of $500,000 bail.
