Champlain Hudson Power Express Project Will be Discussed June 26 in Stony Point

Town of Stony Point Supervisor Geoff Finn announced this week that a Town Hall meeting will be held on June 26, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. regarding the Champlain Hudson Power Express Project.

The controversial project has flown largely under the radar until the past month when local supervisors and business leaders began criticizing its impact on the area. The project involves a multi-state construction of power transmission lines from power stations in Canada, that will impact on Stony Point and other towns in New York State and Rockland County.

Supervisor Finn remarked, “There is great public interest in our town about this project. As Supervisor, I believe it is important to have all town residents hear directly from the source about this project. Therefore, I have invited representatives of Champlain Hudson Power Express to be present in person to answer any questions that town residents have.”

Supervisor Finn noted, “The Town Hall is where traditionally the public is informed of events and my administration will be certain that all town residents have an opportunity to be informed and be heard on all important issues in our town.”
